Mighty Seeds is an EFM-powered business aimed at providing fun, engaging, and customized learning support and tutoring to students grades K-12. We have three main service focuses: traditional tutoring, educational gap tutoring, and our supplemental instruction program. All services are offered online in order to meet the academic needs of American Foreign Service and Military children worldwide and are reimbursable.
The initial idea planting for Mighty Seeds happened in Gaborone, Botswana as the result of another inspiring EFM who saw a need for customized academic support for Foreign Service children and was looking for a way for her idea to be nurtured and grown. What began as a temporary tutoring job is now blooming into an EFM owned business supporting students of varying ages and needs worldwide as they face the educational challenges that come with frequent country, school, curricula, and schedule changes. Many globally mobile students present critical gaps in Mathematics and English skills or have missed out on US History and American Literature and we at Mighty Seeds are here to bridge those gaps.
All new students who come to Mighty Seeds for support will be paired with a tutor who matches their needs and also their time zone to make scheduling of tutoring sessions as convenient as possible for families. After the initial parent/tutor conversation to discuss educational needs and concerns, students may be asked to complete a brief online assessment to show their strengths and any gaps. Based on all conversations and once any needed assessments are completed, a tutoring program will be suggested and a learning plan will be created. At this point, the fun and learning can begin.
